Privacy Policy

What data is used and where it stays

In short: Nur Quran does not require an account, does not track you, shows no ads and uses no analytics. Your settings, bookmarks and tasbih counts are stored only on your device.

Location

If you allow it, your location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction; it is never sent to us or stored. iOS's own location service (Apple) is used to show your city name. If you don't allow location, the default city of the country you chose is used.

Notifications

Prayer, daily hadith and religious-day notifications are scheduled on your device. No server, account or device token is used to send them.

Downloaded content

Translations and audio recitations are downloaded on first use from api.alquran.cloud and cdn.islamic.network (Islamic Network). Like any web request, these servers can see your IP address; no personal information is sent to them. The Arabic text, hadiths and the 99 Names are built into the app.

Shared khatm

If you use shared khatm, the display name you enter, the khatm name and intention, the juz you take and a randomly generated device identifier are recorded. This identifier does not identify you; it only tells apart who took which juz. In the current version this information is stored on your device. When syncing khatms between devices is enabled, this information will be kept on a server reachable with the invite code, and this page will be updated beforehand.

Purchase

The app is bought through the App Store. Your payment and billing details stay with Apple and never reach us.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all data on the device (settings, bookmarks, tasbih counts, khatms). You can leave a khatm with the exit button on the khatm screen.

Children

Nur Quran is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone.
